Morocota Gold S.A.S is a mining company, that began operations on September 25th 2009, whose corporate purpose is the exploration, exploitation, transformation, supply, transportation and commercializing in national and foreign markets, of all types of metals, focusing mainly on Gold.
The company’s operation’s are focused in Gómez Plata, a municipality located in the northern region of Antioquia; part of the Antioquia Batholith.
History of mining in Gómez Plata
During an extensive research of past gold mines in the municipality of Gómez Plata, historic documents detaling 41 mines since 1888 were found within the confines of Morocota Gold’s mining licenses.
